The restoration of the iconic buildings of the park in the “Mirador” sector, built in 1993 by Jean Robert Pistone, has the main objective of transforming it into an Educational Center for the Sea and its Culture. Through the creation of an interpretive room of marine sciences, a historical sample of Punta de Lobos in addition to the existing Information Center.
The park is a great open classroom to educate about the flora and our coastal ecosystems, with tremendous educational potential due to the number of visits. Casa Mirador seeks to complement and educate about our highly relevant and often little-known ocean.
Through this intervention, this sector can become the catalyst and consolidate itself as a new public space in the town, capable of influencing its territory.
It is proposed to enable the place maintaining the values of the existing construction under a criterion of minimal intervention and correct adaptation of the new uses, without losing the symbolic identity of the building and maximizing its durability over time.
